People search “how soon can I test” hoping for one number. There isn’t one.

Different pathogens become detectable at different times. A clinic may still run a first panel immediately — for your current status, for PEP eligibility, for bacterial STIs that show up sooner — and then book you back. Treating that first PDF as a lifetime certificate is the mistake.

This article does not publish a DIY day-by-day chart. Window guidance changes, assays differ, and getting it wrong is worse than “ask the doctor who ordered the test.”
