Planning a health checkup during a short visit to Shenzhen? Confirm the appointment and the report arrangements separately. Send your arrival and departure dates, ask what can be booked, and check when the final report and explanation will be available in English. The day you attend the centre is not automatically the day every document will be ready.

This is a local booking and reporting guide. Our health checkup package guide covers selecting a package, and understanding your results covers the next conversation. A clinician should advise on appropriate testing; more items do not by themselves establish a better checkup.

Health checkup in Shenzhen: an official contact route

The Hong Kong University–Shenzhen Hospital publishes English pages for its Health Assessment Center and Premium Health Assessment Center. The premium centre describes discussing a tailored examination plan with a doctor and providing a face-to-face assessment.

The following contacts were checked on the official pages on 13 October 2026:

Enquiry routePublished contactWhat to ask
General outpatient English hotline+86 755 8691 3366Which appointment or centre handles my enquiry?
IMC Shenzhen enquiry+86 755 8691 3388Does the premium assessment service fit my requested dates and needs?
IMC emailimc@hku-szh.orgWhat information is needed to discuss the booking and reporting arrangements?

The hotline information is from the hospital’s Appointment Channels guide and premium centre page. Confirm service hours and the intended department directly before relying on them. The hospital is at No. 1 Haiyuan 1st Road, Futian District. Mention here is for orientation; it is not a claim that the hospital is a China Medical Journey contracted partner.

Confirm the checkup booking route rather than assuming a general slot covers it

Ask how the intended centre books health assessments. The hospital’s general appointment guide lists several digital channels and says that not every department offers online booking. It also notes that an on-site appointment request may not lead to a same-day consultation. Those are reasons to confirm the specific assessment booking before using a limited travel day to attend.

The centre should confirm the appointment location, registration process and documents it wants. If you use a foreign passport, ask which registration route accommodates it and whether any additional information is required. An English website does not establish that every online form accepts every identity document.

If you choose another Shenzhen provider, use its own official contact route and the same checks. This article is not a ranking of clinics and does not promise equivalent packages, prices or language services across the city.

State your departure date at the start

Tell the centre how long you will be in Shenzhen and whether the departure date is fixed. Explain whether the purpose is routine screening, discussing a particular concern or arranging an examination required by another organisation. Ask the provider to confirm the appropriate route; a general checkup package should not be assumed to satisfy a specific administrative requirement.

Questions worth settling are:

  • Can you accept a visitor with my identity document during these dates?
  • Which appointment or assessment service are you proposing?
  • Which items need their own booking, if any?
  • What is the initial estimate and what does it include?
  • What must be confirmed by the clinician before the tests are selected?

You can use the checkup price page as background, but it is not a current Shenzhen quote. Ask the centre for its own itemised estimate and inclusion list.

Ask for preparation instructions for your booked tests

Request the centre’s written instructions, and let it know about relevant medical information through the channel it specifies. If you have questions about medicines, fasting or another appointment, raise them with the clinician. A travel coordinator can help obtain and explain the instructions but does not determine the clinical preparation.

Cleveland Clinic’s blood-test guidance notes that fasting requirements depend on the test. Use that as a reason to ask, rather than applying one rule to every package. Follow the instructions given for your actual booking.

If you are also considering dental care, tell both providers. Our dental care and checkup coordination guide explains the questions to ask about appointment order and conflicting instructions.

Separate the test day from English report delivery

Ask for expected timing at each stage. Completing the examinations, receiving individual results, obtaining a final summary and having the findings explained are separate arrangements. If documents need translation, confirm which records that covers and when they will be delivered.

Final reportExpected completion and collection or delivery method

We did not find a fixed English-report turnaround published on the HKU-Shenzhen pages cited above. Do not infer a same-day or next-day service from the existence of an English contact route. Confirm the dates for the package and language arrangements you actually choose.

Agree on a plan if something arrives after departure

If a report or explanation will follow later, confirm how it will reach you and who will answer questions. Ask what happens if the clinician recommends additional assessment. Keep a copy of the source report as well as any English version, so future clinicians can see the records from the provider.

China Medical Journey’s focus is helping you receive the information and records in English. Agree the scope and timing of that delivery before proceeding; the screening provider remains responsible for clinical interpretation and recommendations. Our medical records guide covers keeping material for future care.

Start with your dates and a short description

Tell us that you are planning a short Shenzhen visit, what you want to discuss and when you leave. We can check what coordination we can arrange, seek an initial estimate and help clarify the booking and English-delivery questions. The provider confirms availability, suitability and the final reporting arrangements.

A WhatsApp conversation is enough to begin. If you use the enquiry form, leave a WhatsApp number with country code if you want a reply there; an email address is also accepted.

FAQ

Can a short-stay visitor ask for a health checkup in Shenzhen?

Contact the provider with your travel dates and the purpose of the visit. Ask about registration, appointment availability and the proposed services. The provider confirms whether it can accept the booking and which tests are appropriate; this guide does not guarantee a slot.

How do I contact HKU-Shenzhen Hospital about a checkup?

Its official English appointment guide lists a general outpatient English hotline at +86 755 8691 3366. Its Premium Health Assessment page lists the IMC Shenzhen contact at +86 755 8691 3388 and imc@hku-szh.org. Ask which route applies to your intended assessment; contacts and hours can change.

Will my report be ready in English before I fly home?

Confirm this for the exact services you choose. Ask separately about completing the tests, the final report, an explanation of findings and English delivery. We did not find a published fixed English-report turnaround on the HKU-Shenzhen pages cited here.

Do all health checkup blood tests require fasting?

No. Preparation depends on the ordered tests. Ask the centre for its instructions and clarify any questions with the clinician. Do not choose a fasting duration or change medicines based on a travel guide.

Planning care around a fixed stay? Tell us what you are considering and your travel dates. Ask us on WhatsApp, or use the enquiry form. Leave a WhatsApp number with country code if you prefer a reply there; email is also fine.

General information for planning, not medical or dental advice. Follow the specific advice of the licensed clinicians caring for you; appointment availability and clinical arrangements need provider confirmation.
